ONLINE EVENT: Poland Votes 2025: State of Play
10 April 2025
3 April 2025
The second Donald Trump administration has forced the EU to invest significantly more in its hard security, and in doing so adopt several CEE initiatives. It has also amplified pressure on democratic security.
Join our online discussion with Magda Jakubowska, Wojciech Przybylski, and Staś Kaleta! The event will take place on 8 April at 3:00 PM CEST / 9:00 AM EDT on Zoom.

By questioning militant democracy and cutting much of USAID funding, the US administration has empowered far-right narratives and DIMI actors from CEE. This makes the EU Democracy Shield initiative all the more important – but there is little cohesion across the EU on its priority objectives.
Will leaders like Donald Tusk and Friedrich Merz establish a common ground for democracy security initiatives? How do we protect electoral integrity in elections in Poland and Romania? How far will crackdowns on media and civil society go in Hungary and Slovakia?
The event serves as a prelude to the Visegrad Insight Policy Brief, part of a quarterly series that tracks developments shaping democratic resilience and security in the region.
