What does the Kremlin fear the most? As it turns out, it is Russians abroad. This is what Visegrad Insight learnt from a conversation with two Russian investigative journalists. Their book on Russia’s tactics against compatriots who are politically active in the USA has been released just today.
We were speaking about Central Europe at the Internazionale in Ferrara – one of the most crowded fora in Italy to discuss world affairs. Gabriela Rogowska and Wojciech Przybylski sat down for a coffee with Andrei Soldatov and Irina Borogan to learn more about their latest book The Compatriots: The Brutal and Chaotic History of Russia’s Exiles, Émigrés, and Agents Abroad (2019).
“The Compatriots” is their third book and describes the tactics of Russian foreign and intelligence services in contemporary Russia. Their analytical work provides regular updates from the world of FSB so accurately and influentially, that they were forced out from their previous jobs at the newspaper. Now they publish on their website Agentura.ru.
