The Polish-Ukrainian border has become one of Europe’s busiest economic frontiers and one of its most politically sensitive. It has seen both farmers’ blockades and attempts of Russian sabotage to stop the freight so essential to Ukraine’s economy. But there is a quiet consolidation of industrial and logistical ties that link the two countries.
Despite missile strikes and disrupted logistics, Poland-Ukraine trade has remained resilient.
In 2023, Poland was among Ukraine’s top trading partners, with supply chains in metallurgy, machinery and agri-food continuing to operate. Ukrainian companies such as Metinvest, Ferrexpo, Kernel and ViOil maintained deliveries of metal and food products to Polish industries.
