EU accession requires Ukraine to solidify the rule of law and establish robust democratic institutions. It is crucial not to overlook this requirement – nor to use it as a pretext for a subtle rejection of Ukraine’s membership bid.
In the last week of October, Ukraine’s National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) launched a new guide for its corruption reporting channel, offering whistleblowers a streamlined process to report misconduct.
The move follows the country’s first payouts under a 2019 law that incentivises whistleblowers with up to 10% of recovered funds, capped at $500,000 – a milestone the NACP hailed as a key step in building a culture of transparency and accountability.
