Hungary goes to the ballot box on 3 April and the future of this democracy lies in the hands of the Hungarian voters.
This week, Visegrad Insight held a week-long conference and invited former politicians, experts, analysts, and leading journalists to discuss the current ‘State of Hungary’ with an outlook for the future in mind.
The overarching idea of this conference was to put the debate on the future of Hungary in the context of the global struggle between democracy and autocracy with the actual players behind it (China, Russia, US, EU). It served to describe Hungarian dynamics in the larger context of Central Europe and the West.
State of Hungarian Democracy with Andras Bozoki (Central European University), Edit Zgut (Polish Academy of Sciences) moderated by Benjamin Novak (New York Times). Introduction by Wojciech Przybylski (Visegrad Insight, Res Publica Foundation)
