The Open Question of Rumen Radev
23 April 2026
17 June 2021
The politics of the V4 region have been on full display, complete with legal, VAR challenges and more jovial friendlies. The captains of the Polish and Slovak cohorts have similar stated goals — albeit ideologically opposed in reality — and with very different strategies for implementation, to the woe of the Warsaw contingent.
The first round of the Euro 2020 tournament (taking place in 2021) has just finished. Each participating V4 team has already played its first match.
This championship is unique not only because it is being played one year late, but because all V4 countries are for the second, consecutive time playing in the tournament. Moreover, two V4 countries are playing in the same group (Group E) and have already faced each other in the first round.
Slovakia won the duel against Poland. The Hungarians were beaten in Budapest by the Portuguese team, and the Czechs beat the Scots thanks to a beautiful (and) Schick goal.
