US Boosts Troops in Poland, Kyiv Pushes for Accession

Peter Pellegrini, a close ally of Slovak nationalist and pro-Russian PM Robert Fico, won the second round of presidential elections, which is likely to entrench the country’s recent turn towards Russia.
In the Polish local elections, the opposition Law and Justice (PiS) confirmed its position as the country’s biggest party, winning 34% of votes to regional assemblies, ahead of PM Tusk’s Civic Coalition on 32%, according to exit polls.
