As new data places it among Europe’s most polarised societies, the warning signs for the rest of the EU are impossible to ignore. What’s happening in Slovakia today could easily take root elsewhere tomorrow.
In an era marked by growing fragmentation, Slovakia has emerged as one of Europe’s most polarised societies.
According to the latest data from the V-Dem project presented in DEKK Institute analysis, Slovakia now ranks as the second most polarised country in Europe – behind only Hungary and followed by Poland.
