The Russian invasion of Ukraine has elevated the security aspect of Europe’s and NATO’s eastern frontier, giving Poland a unique opportunity to exert a greater impact on the Western alliance.
Finland’s accession to NATO and Poland’s ambitious armament programme chime with surveys indicating the majority of Europeans perceive Russia as a threat that requires a robust defence policy.
