The immediate needs of refugees arriving in Poland have been met. But how do we effectively manage the integration process in the long term?

After weeks of bombing spent in cellars, thoughts of an uncertain future and a journey of on average five days through a country at war, women, girls and children from the residential areas of Kharkiv and the almost completely destroyed small towns of the region finally reached the western border as refugees.

Some made the journey in their own cars and were still able to say goodbye to their parents or husbands at the border. Others arrived by rail and public transport, leaving their loved ones behind.
