EU/regional:

- On 11 January a NATO-Russia Council meeting will be held.
- A leaked draft plan from the European Union labels some natural gas and nuclear energy power plants as ‘transitional’ or ‘green’ which would open up these investments to EU funds. The official draft will be decided on by 12 January after official publishing the proposal can be vetoed by a majority of the Member States or by the European Parliament. Already Member States governments are coming out for or against, with Central European states more likely to be in favour of the draft.
