The EU is set to unveil its Clean Industrial Deal on Wednesday. At its core, this is about European economic and energy security.
First, the deal pushes for a ‘Buy European’ policy – a potential boon for Central Europe’s export-oriented markets. The bloc has to be competitive in manufacturing, amid cheaper Chinese industry and likely US tariffs on steel, aluminium and automotives.
It’s also about battling high energy costs and diversifying energy supplies through clean tech. Poland last week secured €1.8 billion in financing for its distribution grid, positioning itself as a potential leader in energy competitiveness.
