The Hungarian economy is in desperate need of money. So it is no wonder that last week there were reports that Budapest would cave into Brussels’ pressure on the rule of law in order to get its hands on billions of euros frozen by European officials – the funds were frozen because Viktor Orbán built an authoritarian government inside the EU member state.
