The Board of Directors of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) unanimously voted to approve Damon Wilson as the next president and chief executive officer. Wilson succeeds Carl Gershman, who has led the Endowment since its founding in 1983.
Congratulations to Damon Wilson on becoming the next president of the National Endowment for Democracy. In times of a global struggle between democracy and authoritarianism, the mission of the NED is more important than ever. A renewal of democratic institutions that comes with a change of leadership builds up the belief in the resilience of that model against all odds.
