Vaccination of Journalists and Reporters

Why Romania Gives Them Priority

21 January 2021

In providing them priority access to vaccines, Romania acknowledges the merits and valuable services rendered by journalists and reporters.

Following the vaccination of the medical personnel in the country in the last days of December 2020 and early weeks of January 2021, Romania commenced the second phase of the process on 15 and 16 January.

This phase is the most extensive until now and concerns 5 million individuals; and just like the previous one, it is coordinated by the Ministry of National Defence.

Assigning the vaccination to a military institution demonstrated from the very beginning that the campaign is considered part of a national resilience strategy.
