What looks like a booming Russian economy is, in fact, a militarised system burning through its future to prop up Putin’s present. As Moscow doubles down on war, Europe faces a stark choice: grow up militarily or risk becoming the next illusion shattered.
This time, the invasion began in silence.
Estonian radars were scrambled. GPS signals vanished. Mobile phones stopped working. Then the internet went dark. Vladimir Putin had learned from the missteps of Ukraine: before a single tank crossed the border, Russian intelligence had already mapped Estonia’s communications infrastructure, rendering it paralysed.
