This week the European Parliament will hold a Plenary Session on debate topics relating to the rule of law crisis in Poland (and primacy of EU law), as well as the pushbacks of migrants at the EU’s external border. Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki will tag along to Strasbourg on Tuesday to present Poland’s position on Warsaw’s dispute with Brussels.
Coal miners and energy workers in Bulgaria are demanding job security assurances from the government amid EU targets to reduce carbon emissions and shut down coal plants, while the European gas supply crunch is causing concern over a huge spike in heating bills this winter.
