Why the EU Must Include Roma in Its Democracy Strategy – COMMENTARY

The world is moving forward, but military thinking remains stuck in the past. As Poland looks to double its army size, ignoring half the population is not just outdated – it’s strategically unsound. Women must be included, not as an afterthought, but as an essential part of national security.
The belief that the Polish army is too small and insufficiently prepared is uncontroversial. Poles are aware of the shortcomings and years of neglect in building defence capabilities.
According to an IBRiS survey for PAP, 54% of respondents now view the government’s and Ministry of Defence’s efforts to modernise the Polish military positively, while 30% disagree.
