Israel’s Cost-effective Defence vs Ukraine’s Expensive Western Missiles

When Israeli defence shot down 99% of projectiles and cost 10% of Iran’s offensive, the winner of the battle is undeniable. A closer examination of the economics behind the wars in Israel and Ukraine reveals the need for more sustainable defence strategies.

The conventional war of the future will not be decided by a small number of expensive and highly modern weapons but by a large number of smaller, modern and much cheaper weapons.

This was predicted four years ago in the book The Kill Chain, written by Christopher Brose, a former adviser to US Senator John McCain. Anyone who has read the book and now follows what is happening on the Ukrainian or Middle Eastern battlefields will agree with him and – at the same time – should think about what the Western defence industry and politicians are doing wrong.
