A controversial Czech media outlet, notorious for promoting Kremlin-backed narratives, has crossed into Poland, raising alarms in an already fragile Polish media landscape.

We inaccurately stated that the outlet Parlamentní Listy had expanded into Poland, a claim the publishers have just refuted. Additionally, the owner of the publishing company has sent us his personal concerns about the opinions in the article regarding pro-Kremlin narratives and disinformation, and we are responding to him.
In June 2023, Czech gaming tycoons Marek Španěl and Slavomír Pavlíček expanded their media empire by acquiring a 70% stake in OUR Media, the parent company of the controversial website Parlamentní Listy (PL). This acquisition, framed by Španěl as a defence of free speech, raised eyebrows in Czechia’s media and political circles.
Parlamentní Listy, infamous for promoting pro-Kremlin narratives and far-right nationalist content, has now crossed borders, launching a Polish edition that poses new challenges to Poland’s already embattled media landscape.
