27 June 2024

How should we fight disinformation? How can we better secure the information space, from deep fakes and the like? These questions and more were the focus of our closed-door event on propaganda and disinformation.

On 27 June 2024, together with the Embassy of Belgium – Delegation of Flanders to Poland and the Baltic States, we organised a Conference on Propaganda and Disinformation. The event took place on our premises at Gałczyńskiego 5 Street in Warsaw.

Speakers:

  • Christophe Busch – Director of Hannah Arendt Institute Totalitarianism Studies, which aims to centralise and integrate scientific research for comparative analysis of dictatorships and is hosted by the Dresden University of Technology.
  • Hanna Liubakova – Non-resident fellow at the Atlantic Council. She is a freelance journalist and researcher from Belarus. She is currently a journalist with Outriders, an international multimedia platform that produces interactive reporting and focuses on solutions journalism.
  • Paula Rejkiewicz – Head of Strategic Communication and Countering Disinformation Unit, Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • Agnieszka Wądołowska – Deputy Editor-in-Chief at Notes from Poland. She is a University Lecturer at Collegium Civitas.

The discussion was moderated by Galan Dall, Managing Editor at Visegrad Insight.

The event was initiated by Wojciech Przybylski, Editor-in-Chief at Visegrad Insight, and followed by an introduction by Thomas Castrel, General Representative of Flanders in Poland and the Baltic States.
