Warsaw and Prague Look For Confidence Boost

The smaller countries of Central and Eastern Europe and their export-oriented economies will be hit hard by US tariffs – especially in the automotive industry.
But this is not just about economic repercussions. EU officials will be debating their response to the US at a Foreign Affairs Council today, and later at an informal meeting of economic and financial affairs ministers in Warsaw from 11-12 April.
Will they acknowledge that economies exist within a security environment? Their business must be backed by force – otherwise, the US won’t even bother to answer Europe’s call, as we write in our editorial.
