Central Eastern European (CEE) countries face mounting pressure to find a solution to the COVID-19 pandemic by loosening restrictions to restart their economy.
The countries from the region have realised that in the short-term, only the latter can be managed.
Given the export-driven economies of many CEE countries, a number of leaders have already started with easing restrictions although they could benefit way more from a coordinated approach.
For instance, last Monday, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš unveiled a phased-out plan for easing the coronavirus restrictions from 17 April.
