All the Kremlin's Men Went Out to Fight COVID-19 in Belarus

16 April 2020

Olga Kevere

The Kremlin sees a real threat in Belarus as a consequence of COVID-19 and clearly signals this through various media channels. The group of people managing Russia does not and will not abandon its intentions to de facto incorporate Belarus into Russia.

We have bad news for you – all the conditional ‘towers’ of the Kremlin are concerned about the coronavirus in Belarus, in particular, how to use the crisis to bite off another piece of the neighbour’s sovereignty.

This concern is reflected in publications by the entire Kremlin media. This means only one thing – the decision to increase pressure on the “fraternal state” was made not in the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, but at an even higher level.

This is what iSANS has found while monitoring the Russian media targeting Belarus specifically in connection with the COVID 19. Our previous monitoring report Propaganda in the Time of Plague: In Between Reptilians and the Lifting of Sanctions looked at the ways in which the Kremlin has weaponised COVID for propaganda purposes in its war against the West.
