European Commission Report Highlights Ukraine’s Gains in Governance, Reform and Resilience

MAGA Republicans are proposing policies which are in lockstep with the illiberal tendencies witnessed in Europe, and if successful in the polls, these transnational movements can potentially remake both the American and European systems of government to the detriment of democracy.
It is a matter of debate when the United States Republican Party (GOP) became radicalised due to the normalisation of its fringe, leading to a progressive shift of its ideological centre to the extreme right.
However, the ascendance of Trump to the leadership of the GOP – and then to the presidency – brought to the political fray a multitude of conservatives, or maybe better described, illiberal voters, who before were not interested in politics.
