Costa EU Budget Trip With Easy CEE Countries

AfD’s victory in Saxony-Anhalt lights a fire under CEE’s sovereigntists and strong statements from those opposing them.
Alternative for Germany (AfD) taking 43.8 per cent in Saxony-Anhalt on 6 September adds fuel to another debate shaping this week – over the line-up of important visits across CEE.
While the biggest attention grabber was Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner making their first visit to Ukraine, in Belgrade, GLOBSEC is holding BELTALKS with Aleksandar Vučić, Đuro Macut and Ana Brnabić on the speaker list but no independent voices from Serbia. Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos withdrew over the glorification surrounding the burial of war criminal Ratko Mladić, and according to Visegrad Insight – over the pressure from Serbian civil society. And in Poland, Kamil Basaj, founder of the INFO OPS Polska Foundation, withdrew from the Economic Forum in Karpacz over its promotion of Chinese interests.
