Join our live (in-person) debate in Bratislava on 22 Feb. @ 5 PM with Miriam Lexmann (Slovak MEP), Matej Šimalčík (Executive Director of the Central European Institute of Asian Studies), Mirek Tóda (Editor and reporter at Denník N) (tbc)and moderated by Wojciech Przybylski (editor-in-chief of Visegrad Insight), on protecting democratic set up in Central Europe from autocratic influences: 

  • Is the EU shield enough to protect CEE democracies from autocratic influences?
  • Should it be more united and reactive to China and its behaviour?
  • What are the biggest challenges for European approach towards China?
  • What is here at stake, and what are the mechanisms?
  • How will the Lithuania-China case affect EU and CEE-China relations?
  • How to protect the democratic set up in the region?

The meeting will take place on 22 February 2022 at 17:00 – 18:00 in Bratislava ParkInn hotel, room PRESSBURG (Rybne Namestie 1) and is organised by Visegrad Insight, Res Publica Foundation (Warsaw, Poland) together with Bratislava Policy Institute and Dennik N.
