Event: EU Foresight from a Swedish Perspective

On 14 February, we had the pleasure of hosting Lars Danielsson, former Permanent Representative of Sweden to the EU, and former State Secretary, currently a lecturer on EU and global affairs. The event brought together a group of distinguished diplomats and experts.

Lars Danielsson started the event by presenting his insights on the EU’s enlargement with a specific focus on Ukraine. The conversation then pivoted towards the Western Balkans and their future within the European community.

The discussion also touched upon the state of European defence, and the EU’s unity when facing acute and more general security threats. The meeting ended with a Q&A session where participants discussed the possibility of Turkey joining the European Union and the necessary support required to help Ukraine win the war.
