Fear sells. It drives clicks and captures attention. For years, media outlets have capitalised on this, using fear as a dominant strategy. Over time, we’ve grown somewhat numb to these tactics, yet they’ve significantly altered our perception of the world.
Today, we often see the world as far more dangerous and fragile than it truly is. Recently, however, an accelerant has been added to this mix: high volatility. The combination of economic crises, pandemics, and wars has left us shaken, fueling a resurgence of fear-mongering.
