Correction on Czech Media Outlet Expanding to Poland

Editorial note

15 November 2024

We are addressing a notable error in our article, ‘Czech Gaming Tycoons Expand Kremlin-Linked Media into Poland,’ published on 31 October 2024. We inaccurately stated that the outlet Parlamentní Listy had expanded into Poland, a claim the publishers have just refuted.

Parlamentní Listy’s narratives closely align with Kremlin propaganda. Multiple studies and court rulings have confirmed the outlet’s dissemination of pro-Russian disinformation and manipulative techniques.

Research from Masaryk University concludes that Parlamentní Listy goes even further than some pro-Kremlin media: On the subject of foreign policy, the comparison of manipulative techniques between Parlamentní Listy and Sputnik, in particular, is striking. It turns out that some manipulative techniques are more frequently encountered on Parlamentní Listy than on Sputnik. A Czech court also ruled that FORUM 24’s arguments about Parlamentní Listy spreading lies and being in line with Kremlin strategic narratives were correct and acknowledged that the outlet spreads untruths, is pro-Russian and gives space to extremists. We are preparing to publish their publisher’s official response.
