A closed-door strategic foresight discussion

24 March 2023

Roundtable discussion on 29 March 2023 at 9:00 AM in Bratislava

A closed-door, strategic foresight discussion on key global challenges to business and democracy in CEE where we connect with digital-age business leaders to explore the current trends and map out possible solutions to these issues. This event is part of Visegrad Insight’s New Europe 100 Leaders Action Group and will be co-organised by the League for Digital Boost and sponsored by the Center for International Private Enterprise.

The roundtable discussion will build upon initial research in the V4 region that gathered data from the top CEE digital business leaders that analyzed the role of values, axiological and cultural sentiments, as well as personal attitudes of the representatives of the current and future ICT business leaders. In this discussion, we will survey our participants and map out existing and potential weak spots of western-based digital business cooperation, what issues are paramount, and what seems to be missing from public debate. The key areas of this discussion will be:

  • The role values play in business decision-making in the aftermath of the Russian invasion of Ukraine
  • The issue of surveillance in your country and in your businesses
  • The issue of digital safety and security in relation to your hardware/software needs
  • The role of corporate philanthropy in securing economic and democratic stability in CEE

The roundtable discussion will be led by Visegrad Insight’s Editorial Director Miles R. Maftean and will incorporate insights garnered from two previous surveys distributed among New Europe 100 laureates – a group of leading innovators (entrepreneurs, experts, investors and activists) in the CEE region recognised by the Res Publica Nowa expert community. NE100 is a community established in 2014 and consists of present-day and future leaders, change makers and industry leaders who will be deciding upon the shape of economic cooperation, intelligence and defence cooperation and diplomatic relations for the years to come.
