Event: China’s Digital Footprint in CEE

Visegrad Insight Event

27 June 2022

Join our event on 29 June 2022 at 16:00 CET which will present our study that analyses the growing digital sectors in V4 to non-Western businesses

Join our conversation with Filip Konopczyński (Re.ThinkCEE Fellow, German Marshall Fund and co-founder of the Kalecki Foundation) and Miles R. Maftean (Editorial Director, Visegrad Insight) where they present the concept and results of Visegrad Insight’s latest study which analyses the susceptibility of the growing digital sectors in the V4 region to the non-Western-based (primarily Chinese) business cooperation leading to economic and intelligence infiltration as well as potential tools that could serve as effective countermeasures against it. Joining for a discussion of the results will be Dalibor Roháč (Senior Fellow, American Enterprise Institute).

The goal of the study was to create a first-to-date study that analyses the role of values, axiological and cultural sentiments as well as personal attitudes of the representatives of the current and future ICT business leaders in Central and Eastern Europe and maps out existing and potential weak spots of western-based digital business cooperation. A toolkit of scenarios and narratives will also be presented.

The meeting will take place on 29 June 2022 at 16:00 – 17:00 CET, online (via Zoom).

For those who could not attend the event, we have a recording of the session which you can watch below.
