A Manifesto For Czech Membership in NATO’s Nuclear Sharing Club

The war in Ukraine has only accelerated a process that began long ago

3 February 2023

Due to the ever-increasing hostilities between Russia and NATO, the deteriorating relationship with Prague and Moscow and the transformative nature of the Czech military, now is the time for Czechia to become further integrated into the Western alliance’s security framework and join the nuclear sharing club.

Czechia should join the NATO nuclear sharing programme within the next ten years in order to accomplish a full adaptation of its security and defence policy to a new environment shaped by the ongoing war in Ukraine.

This process of gradual adaptation started already before the Russian invasion of February 2022, and it transcends domestic political divisions between virtually all major political parties. Yet, the war exacerbates previous trends.
